Omniture Video Tracking
If you're an Omniture customer, you can track your videos and video players from within your Omniture console by following these steps.
- Log into your SiteCatalyst account to obtain your Account ID, Visitor Namespace, and Data Center (DC) values.
- Click the "Admin" dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner, and select "Admin Console".
- Click "Code Manager" in the bottom left-hand corner.
- Select which report suite you'd like to use, the currency of the report suite, and how many periods are used in your domain. You don't need to make any other changes here.
- Click "Generate Code". It should now display values for your Account ID, Visitor Namespace, and Data Center (DC). Take note of these values.
- Log in to the KickApps Affiliate Center.
- Click the App Studio tab.
- Open a widget that includes the video player you'd like to track with Omniture, or create a new video player by dragging down a video player from the Players tab.
- Open the Tracking panel by selecting Window > Tracking
- In the Tracking panel, enter your Omniture Account ID and the name you'd like to use for this widget/video player in your Omniture console. Optionally, enter a visitor namespace and/or DC (Data Center) code. There is also an option to automatically track all clicks on the widget. This metric simply records the URL of the page on which the widget is located when it is clicked. Please refer to Omniture for detailed documentation.
- From the main Menu, select Save.
Your video player will now begin transmitting data to Omniture whenever it is viewed. Access video reporting under Omniture's Video tab as shown below. The automatic click tracking data is accessible under Omniture's Site Content > Links > Custom Links section.
