Quickly Build Dynamic Pages with Widgets Instead of Code

by Chris

Many people make the mistake of thinking that their community widgets are only useful for syndicating media and members to other sites and they'll need their custom community RSS feeds or the REST API dev kit to build new community pages outside of the KickApps-powered templates. The truth is that widgets are also a great tool for building your own pages without needing any back end code.

To get started, log in to the KickApps Affiliate Center and browse to Deploy » Widget Studio (or if you're feeling old school, you can go to the Widgets & Video Players section) and start building Widgets. Then, paste them into your own pages to create a rich, dynamic experience.

That sounds too simple

Yes, it does, so rather than waste time reading about it, why not check out these live examples?

Danity Kane
The official Danity Kane site uses widgets for media, news, and a video player.
Campuran
This homepage is a great mix of KickApps and Joomla! They've also used widgets to build some of their content list pages.
